Macy has always been good at picking winners. One could say, "She has the Midas tough." Anyway, it's hoped that she gets a little chuckle out of the montage.
There isn't a whole lot going on here in good, old Price. It has been rather cold of late. It typically gets down into the single digits at night. The days have been bright and shiny until about the time the sun goes down. Then the temperature plummets. We have had a lot more snow this year than we have for quite a few years. Say about six or seven. They've been getting quite a bit more up along the Wasatch Front. But, we usually don't get anything that comes over the mountain from the northwest. Our storms have to usually come from the southwest in order to bring any appreciable moisture.
If the weather is good in northern Utah and southeastern Idaho this weekend, we plan to go with John and Sarah to Tiffany Perrin's wedding in Black Foot. It will be in the morning on Saturday, the 26th, with a luncheon following afterward. Then we want to drive back to Mary and Tyler's house and spend Sunday with them, weather permitting.
Gloria is enjoying her new calling as a Primary teacher. She teaches the children that are 7 years old and will be turning 8 years old this year. That will give her a chance to help them understand and prepare for baptism. She's putting in a lot of extra time preparing materials for the children to take home and share with their families. And she has had comments from some of the parents telling her how excited their children are when they come home and show them what Gloria gave them to take home and keep. That makes Gloria feel good and shows that her extra effort is bearing fruit after only a few weeks of teaching. There are nine children in her class and about seven or eight come each week. That means preparing personal flannel board stories for each child -- with each picture colored by hand and laminated. But the children love receiving them. She is surprised that most of the children have difficulty reading. Hopefully they will develop a desire to read from the Book of Mormon. And with the materials Gloria prepares for them to take home they should be well on their way.
I need to spend more time doing some genealogy. I am supposed to be a Family History Consultant for the ward, but I have been shirking my responsibility, I'm afraid. I want to start going to the History Library that is located on the other side of town. Since I am finished with the class on learning to create web sites last semester at CEU, I now have the time to do more genealogy. That would be a good new year's resolution, don't you think?
Well, it's getting close to dinner, so I think it's about time to sign off for now. So, until next time, Chou for now.
