May Day +1

It's May 2nd, a Sunday, and it is colder outside than a mother-in-law's kiss! The sun is shining brightly, but the wind is blowing coldly. We returned home from church a little after noon and when we entered the house, Gloria and I both exclaimed, "Turn on the furnace!" We had meatloaf and potatoes with a green salad and jello to eat after closing our fast. Then both of us took a nap.

We decided to call Uncle Reed on the phone after we both finished napping and Gloria is still talking to him as I write. Today is Mary and Tyler's wedding anniversary so we are going to telephone them as well to wish them our best.

In a little over three weeks, Gloria will finish the school year and summer break will begin. It doesn't seem possible that another school year has come and gone. This has been quite an eventful year. There has been a lot of ups and downs. Lucy was born, that's an upper. I lost my gall bladder, that was a downer. Tyler found a new job, that's an upper. Luke spent a week in the hospital, that was a downer. John finished his third year in his apprenticeship, that was an upper. I could go on, but that will do for now. Any way, we still have reason to count our many blessings. After all, how can we recognize the sweetness of life if we never experience the bitterness occasionally?

I've made a commitment to repent and be more consistent in writing in this blog on a regular basis. So, look forward to hearing and seeing more of us from now on.

"HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU 'TIL WE MEET AGAIN."

Love, Dad
